Our Collection of Personal Information From the first moment you interact with us, we are collecting personal information about you. Sometimes we collect personal information automatically when you interact with our services and sometimes we collect the personal information directly from you. At times, we may collect personal information about you from other sources and third parties, even before our first direct interaction.

Personal Information You Provide

We may collect the following personal information you provide in connection with our Services, including:

  • Contact Information: For all our transactions, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, and mailing or delivery address.

  • Driver Qualifications and Identity Verification Information: Where you rent a vehicle with us, or are added as an authorized driver, we may collect your driver’s license information, Passport, and proof of insurance and including the information contained therein (such as your date of birth and picture).

  • Purchase Information: Where you purchase a vehicle or a product from us, we may also collect information payment card information or third-party payment information (such as PayPal) where required for the purpose of payment. We may also collect information regarding the purchases or transactions made on our Service.

  • Rental Information: Where you rent a vehicle with us, we may collect information about the rental and return locations, dates of rental, billing information, and payment card information.

  • Claims Information: To the extent our vehicles are involved in an accident, we may collect information related to the accident, such as claim details and police reports.

  • Support Information: Where you contact us for customer support, we may collect the information you provide so that we may resolve your question regarding our Services.

  • Customer Feedback: When we send out surveys or forms for customer input and feedback, we may collect the information you provide to enhance or improve our Services or for the purposes indicated in the relevant form.

  • On-Sight Footage: When you enter any of our facilities, including our stores or factories, we may collect images or closed-circuit television (“CCTV”) footage of you entering and leaving our premises for purposes that include, security, tracking customer traffic and store maintenance.

  • Events: When you attend an event hosted or sponsored by us, we may collect your information, photos and/or videos of you while in attendance.

  • Social Media: When you tag, identify, or name us or an affiliated social media account in a photograph or video you post, we may collect the information about your account and the image or video you post.

Personal Information Automatically Collected

As is true of most digital platforms, we collect certain personal information automatically when you visit our Services, including:

  • Log File Data, including your internet protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, browser id, date/time of visit, and pages visited.

  • Analytics Data, including the electronic path you take to our services, through our services and when exiting our services, as well as your usage and activity on our services, such as the links and object you view, click or otherwise interact with (also known as “Clickstream Data”).

  • Email Data, including how you interact with our email communications and associated analytics information managed by HotJar.

  • Location Data, including your general geographic location based on your IP address or more precise location when: (i) accessing our online services through a mobile device; or (ii) when we obtain GPS location of the vehicle. For information about our and our third-party partners’ use of cookies and related technologies to collect information automatically, and any choices you may have in relation not its collection, please refer to the Cookies and Related Technologies section below.

Personal Information from Other Sources and Third Parties We also obtain personal information from other sources, which we often combine with personal information we collect either automatically or directly from you. We may receive the same categories of personal information as described above from the following sources and third parties, including:

  • Other Renters: Our renters may provide information to us about other individuals listed as an authorized driver.

  • Advertisers and Publishers: We engage in advertising both on our website and through third-party services. Advertisers and publishers may share personal information with us in connection with our advertising efforts. For example, we may obtain information about whether an advertisement on our website led to a successful engagement between an individual and a third-party advertiser.

  • Service Providers: Our service providers that perform services solely on our behalf, such as analytics and certain marketing providers, collect personal information and often share some or all of this information with us. For example, we receive personal information individuals submit in response to requests for feedback to our feedback providers.

  • Publicly Available Sources: We may collect personal information about individuals that we do not otherwise have from publicly available sources, such as police reports in connection with accidents involving our vehicles.

  • Marketing Partners: We may obtain information from third parties to enhance or supplement our existing user information. For example, we may use this information to send you advertising or promotional materials.

  • Social Media Platforms: When you interact with our Service through various social media and video platforms, such as when you “follow” us on Instagram or “Like” us on Facebook, we may receive information from those social networks about you. We use this information to communicate or interact with you on the social network, understand the demographics of our visitors, and personalize content and advertising. The information we receive is based on your privacy settings with each social network.

  • Referrals: Third parties, including other renters may share your information with us for the purposes of referring you to use our Services.

We use personal information we collect to:

  • Manage our organization and its day-to-day operations.

  • Communicate with individuals, including via email, phone, or text message.

  • Request individuals provide us feedback about our platform and service offerings.

  • Address inquiries or complaints made by or about an individual in connection with our Services.

  • Administer, improve and personalize our Services, including by recognizing an individual and remembering their information when they return to our Services.

  • Develop, operate, improve, maintain, protect and provide the features and functionality of our Services.

  • To Our Affiliates: We may share personal information with other companies owned or controlled by Boondock, Inc., and other companies under common ownership with Boondock, Inc., which include subsidiaries (any organization we own or control) or parent companies (any organization that owns or controls us) and any subsidiaries they own, particularly when we collaborate in providing services.

  • To Marketing Partners: We coordinate and share personal information with our marketing partners in order to advertise and communicate with individuals about our Services we make available.

  • To Third Parties: We may also share or sell personal information collected through our Services to third parties for their own business and commercial purposes, including for the purpose of marketing third-party products or services to users.

  • To Service Providers: We engage other third parties to perform certain functions on our behalf in connection with the uses of personal information described in the Our Use of Personal Information section above. Depending on the function the third party serves, the service provider may process personal information on our behalf or have access to personal information while performing functions on our behalf.

  • With Consent or Direction: We may disclose personal information about an individual to certain other third parties or publicly with their consent or direction.

Cookie and Related Technologies

We and our third-party partners and providers may use (i) cookies or small data files that are stored on an individual’s computer and (ii) other, similar technologies, such as web beacons, pixels, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies and logging technologies (collectively, “cookies”) to automatically collect certain personal information when an individual visits or interacts with our Services. For example, our Services use these technologies to automatically collect analytics and usage information so we can conduct analytics and deliver personalized advertising.

We support the self-regulatory principles for online behavioral advertising published by the Digital Advertising Alliance. These principles allow individuals to exercise choice regarding the collection of information about online activities over time and across third-party websites and applications for online interest-based advertising purposes. Children’s Personal Information Our Services are not directed to, and we do not intend to, or knowingly, collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not use our Services or otherwise provide us with any personal information either directly or by other means. If a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to us, we encourage the child’s parent or guardian to contact us to request that we remove the personal information from our systems. If we learn that any personal information we collect has been provided by a child under the age of 13, we will promptly delete that personal information.

Except where we post, link to or expressly adopt or refer to this Privacy Notice, this Privacy Notice does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, any personal information practices of third-party websites and online services or the practices of other third parties.
